Editor's Note
A demand I can live with every morning: While my wife is getting dressed for work and I'm scrambling to get breakfast ready for our children, somewhere around 7:15 this morning my 8-year-old son Adam stealthily enters our bed and relives his youth. "Why isn't anyone cuddling with me?!" he shouts, pauses, and shouts again (in case we didn't get the message).

Parenting Tips
*Today, only 1 in 10 schools offer computer coding courses to their students. So it's no surprise that many families are starting to consider the value of extracurricular classes for their kids. Inspired by the recent YouTube video that features some digital giants like Mark Zuckerberg, we decided to look into local children's computer programming classes. Here's our list of local resources for elementary and high school students.

*Now celebrating its 100th anniversary, the Parents League has never been more popular, helping thousands of city parents each year discover independent schools, from nursery school through high school--and boarding school as well. They also publish wonderful guides to raising children in the city and offer special events on school admissions as well as common parenting challenges. Our profile explains it all.

*What family doesn't love board games? The low-tech pastime may seem quaint, but we could all use the excuse to unplug and spend quality time together. We handpicked 12 games with the help of the toy experts at local boutiques Gift Hero, Mary Arnold Toys, and Dinosaur Hill, and gathered testimonials from local game-crazed fams!
