 New Faces

CAAP is excited to announce that Fred Smith has joined the Association team as our Lead

AmeriCorps VISTA member. Fred comes recently completing his firs VISTA service year in South Carolina working for the Georgetown Community Care Network. He will be helping to coordinate CAAP's AmeriCorps VISTA project. Fred can be reached at fred@thecaap.org.

In addition, Deborah Fontaine, is returning to the CAAP staff as Special Program Coordinator. Deb started out her time at CAAP as VISTA member before joining the staff for several years. Due to budget cuts, Deb's position was eliminated at the time. We are pleased to have her back on staff to manage the AmeriCorps VISTA program as well assist with other special programs.  Moving On

CAAP Update is sad to announce that Joe Ostrander will be leaving the Association for a new employment opportunity. Joe has served as the Association's Communications Director for over nine years. He is going to be the Director of Development and Personnel for Community Homes of Lebanon.

 What's your Innovation?

NCAF is interested in your Community Action innovations. How are you bringing your ideas into practice? Did you find a creative way to address an old issue? Are you finding new ways to fill gaps in your community?

What is the Ideas Conference?

The Ideas Conference stemmed from the recognition that organizations that do not innovate can become irrelevant. This conference serves as a think tank for Community Action. Come ready to discuss what's next. The Conference is October 27- 30 in St. Petersburg, FL. Registration will open in August.
 Community Needs Assessment Resources
