The Wisdom of Mind-Body Practice Permeates Popular Culture!
At WorldTaiChiDay.org we want to support creation of a new generation of professional health focused Tai Chi and Qigong teachers worldwide --empowering them to make a living as professional Tai Chi and Qigong teachers/therapists/corporate wellness consultants --
... for a healthier calmer and more clear world.
Beautiful Moving Video About How Tai Chi and Qigong Meditation are Changing Lives, and Saving Society a TON OF MONEY IN HEALTH COSTS .... AN EXAMPLE TO THE WORLD OF WHAT IS POSSIBLE at the University of Kansas Hospital's Turning Point Center for Hope and Healing
Taking Tai Chi and Qigong mainstream into popular culture worldwide has been our goal in the creation of World Tai Chi & Qigong Day ...
and this week we had a breakthrough in Kansas City that had double impact, which we share here, because it may give you tools to approach major health institutions in your area or nation, to show them what is possible:
1) We brought Tai Chi & Qigong arts to the general public at a gala inner-city event attended by many of the movers and shakers in the city, and
2) We brought our university medical hospital Tai Chi Meditation program participants to demonstrate Tai Chi, as part of a major citywide fundraiser for this unique program that provides Tai Chi to people dealing with chronic health issues, a free service to the public, enabling many people dealing with serious health issues the Tai Chi and Qigong that are proven to help, but for some are out of their financial reach.
This is a model for the world, a compassionate solution to health costs that saves society a ton of money. Just the people you see demonstrating Tai Chi in the above video have saved the Kansas healthcare system millions of dollars in health costs (avoided surgery, avoided lifetime of diabetes or pain meds, hypertension meds, etc.) by learning and practicing Tai Chi and Qigong Meditation in the hospital program.
CORPORATE TAI CHI & QIGONG:
CORPORATE TAI CHI?
Most workers worldwide are more stressed, longer hours, shorter vacations, and faster and faster technological changes, leaving us all feeling 10 steps behind the rest of the world.
Powerful effective stress management tools like Tai Chi and Qigong (when taught as mindfulness meditations) are sorely needed in the workplace worldwide.
WorldTaiChiDay.org provides resources to help Tai Chi and Qigong teachers worldwide expand their teaching into corporate wellness settings through human resources departments.
World Tai Chi & Qigong Day Founder, Bill Douglas, worked as a Human Resources Administrator for major international corporations here and abroad. This enabled Bill to more easily expand Tai Chi and Qigong into corporate wellness, decades ago ... and in these newsletters that experience is shared to help you create your Tai Chi and Qigong program that can fit into corporate wellness.
With tips like: Knowing that you can offer a meditation-based short form class that focuses on stress release, and students who want more can come to your public classes.
You can also point to our Tai Chi & Qigong for Corporate Wellness links to expand their vision of possibility, and see how much stress is costing their bottom line.
You can help your company understand how sponsoring Tai Chi classes is in their best interest as well as yours. One of corporate America's highest unnecessary production costs is in lost productivity due to employee stress. U.S. businesses are losing $300 billion per year due to stress (that's over $7,500 per employee, per year), which may be why the Occupational Safety and Hazard Administration (OSHA) has declared stress a workplace hazard.

HOW TAI CHI AND QIGONG CAN HELP CHANGE THE WORLD ...
Tai Chi is an internal model for the world.
|How the Greening of Europe|
can Get it Out of Debt.
Psychologists have pointed out that Tai Chi's ongoing changing movement forms are a perfect microcosmic model for the ways the world can tighten up, or relax open to change and possibility.
Tai Chi's highest purpose is to teach us how to get the most effect and power ... from the least amount of effort. At its core, it is high level engineering: physical, emotional, and mental engineering. As we practice for years and decades we look back at how limited and tight we were before. We can only understand that fully as we feel Tai Chi loosen us mentally, physically and emotionally.
"Soong," "Sinking," the basic Chinese Tai Chi concepts are about relaxing the non-necessary muscles, so that core essential muscles can do the work with maximum power and minimal effort. As you work at this you learn that this physical loosening requires a mental and emotional letting go, and loosening. It becomes life altering.
This Tai Chi core message, is not just about "moving pretty when people watch you do Tai Chi," or just about the combat application of moving effortlessly with power ... it is a much large lesson for society at this time in history. A lesson not many Tai Chi teachers acknowledge or are even aware of, but nonetheless important.
With 7 billion people on a planet, stretching the resources and environment to the breaking point ... the world has to learn how to relax into possibility, to let go of our grip on old ways, and flow into the most powerful solutions that nurture everyone.
Green energy conversion is one of those demands of our modern times. Rather than hammering with old outdated solutions, the world needs to open to multi-dimensional and more painless and effortless solutions.
Like Tai Chi, where as you play at it, not only does your balance improve, and your flexibility ... but your high blood pressure goes down ... your blood sugar's stabilize ... your chronic pain issues go away .... you lose weight ... you sleep better ... your immune system gets stronger ....
There are other multi-dimensional solutions to global problems, and opening to Tai Chi meditation's model of personal effortless movement and change that benefits in many ways ... well, it can help us be more open to that in the world as well.
The above video of Robert Pollin, a professor of economics at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and who is the founding co-director of the Political Economy Research Institute (PERI), his research centers on macroeconomics, conditions for low-wage workers in the US and globally, the analysis of financial markets, and the economics of building a clean-energy economy in the US. His latest book is Back to Full Employment. Other books include A Measure of Fairness: The Economics of Living Wages and Minimum Wages in the United States and Contours of Descent: US Economic Fractures and the Landscape of Global Austerity.
... he paints an image of how our economic challenges, rather than being painful, can become opportunities to flow into green energy conversion that can not only heal our environmental issues, but stimulate our economies in painless, yet powerful ways.

Why I Wrote the Complete Idiot's Guide to T'ai Chi & Qigong ...
For the same reason I founded World Tai Chi & Qigong Day, to empower Tai Chi and Qigong enthusiasts and teachers worldwide to expand these mind-body arts into society at all levels for a better, clearer, and calmer society.
My book offers teachers modern, tangible, science based text, insights, illustrations and videos to help them explain the most profound parts of Tai Chi and Qigong, and gives tools and tips to help teachers expand teaching into schools, hospitals, government, prisons, etc.
AND MY BOOK DIRECTS READERS TO TEACHERS WORLDWIDE, who list in the free Teachers Directory at www.WorldTaiChiDay.org.
So as my book opens the door to Tai Chi and Qigong, it leads directly to teachers worldwide. All a free public service to readers and teachers.

World Top Tai Chi Experts' Reviews, Show Why this Book is Used by Teachers Worldwide to Help Explain Complex Chinese Concepts in Modern Terms:
"Sometimes Chinese culture can be difficult to explain. Sifu
Bill Douglas successfully uses American culture to explain the art of T'ai Chi Chuan. He simplifies difficult concepts, making them easier to understand. This book takes the best parts of T'ai Chi and makes them understandable [to Westerners] without requiring a grounding in Chinese culture and history."
-- Sifu Yijiao Hong, USA All-Tai Chi Grand Champion and USA Team member; Certified International Coach and Judge, International Wushu Federation
"Visionary! If you only buy one book on T'ai Chi, then this is the book ... I have taught T'ai Chi for several decades myself, yet I have now read Bill's book from cover to cover seven times, and still get something new from it each time."
