WHY a World Tai Chi & Qigong Day?
 

Educating millions via our organizing mass Tai Chi & Qigong events on the same day worldwide in over 80 nations translates into the amazing expansion of Tai Chi and Qigong into healthcare, education, penal rehab., corporate wellness, etc. that will translate into billions of dollars in saved future health costs, social costs, and personal suffering. That in itself is reason to support this global annual phenomenon.

However, Japanese NHK Television recently broadcast a profound interview with renowned Japanese artist and designer, Susumu Shingu, a visionary who incorporates wind sensitive home design art with functional green sustainable wind energy generation. 

Below is an excerpt from this interview. Mr. Shingu's project is called "Breathing Earth." As you know, the official motto of World Tai Chi & Qigong Day is "One World ... One Breath."

As you read Mr. Shingu's words, if you replace the word "wind" with the word "Qi," his words paint a breathtakingly beautiful image of why we work to organize World Tai Chi & Qigong Day."


 

"I made the wind my theme many years ago. Literature and various art forms face barriers of language and culture. But wind is universal. It can be a means of communication that everyone on planet Earth can share. Wind transcends national boundaries, because it blows freely across the globe. 

The boundaries people established to define societies and countries and so on lie at the heart of all conflict. By transcending such boundaries, wind has the power to unite people as members of one planet wide community. I believe that wind can become a medium of trust. Maybe I'm being too optimistic, but that's the way I feel about the power of the wind.

The Official WTCQD T-Shirt images should be in full view, but the photo should show the person's facial features as well. Again we want an intimate photo (high res, and in focus :-)

The 2nd photo, should be of a wide angle of the crowd doing Tai Chi and/or Qigong together at your 2015 WTCQD event. Now, your crowd photos CAN BE FROM PAST WTCQD EVENTS, but the 1st photo, the close up of the t-shirt must be with a 2015 WTCQD Official T-Shirt.
