This is a powerhouse newsletter you'll want to SAVE and read in its entirety. We have a ton of mind-blowing and helpful information in this for both you and our planet. Tai Chi and Qigong may be just the tip of the profound wisdom traditional Chinese practices offer the world.

Just in! The traditional Chinese diet focusing on veggies and grain, with small amounts of meat, may be a model for the world.

A United States Advisory Panel that helps design school diet education released a report today that encourages eating less meat, both for health, and for global environmental sustainability.  See article in this newsletter for details on this and the traditional Chinese diet. Over centuries the Chinese have developed a highly sophisticated "food as medicine" way of eating.

United States Advisory Panel
Says to Eat Less Meat
Forks Over Knives DVD

When the federal government doles out diet advice to Americans this year, it may take an extra step - looking out not only for the health of people's bodies but the vigor of the planet. An advisory panel charged with helping update the closely-watched guidelines - which shape school meals as well as the decades-old food pyramid - released a report Thursday noting the vital role of everyday eating choices in promoting sustainability. The report by about a dozen nutritionists and university researchers calls for Americans to eat more plant-based foods and less meat - advice that's not necessarily new, but comes with an additional reason for heeding it: "lesser environmental impact." The panel's conclusions bring the environmental debate, which has typically played out over oil pipelines and industrial emissions, squarely to the dinner table.

A note: The traditional Chinese diet is a PERFECT DIET for those who choose to continue eating meat, as it is roughly about 50 percent vegetables, 30 percent grain (rice), and 20 percent meat.

I was amazed when I first saw my new wife make a huge meal out of a tiny little peace of meat. AND IT WAS DELICIOUS and SATISFYING!

A poem by a global activist:

One World ... One Breath

Exquisite and Personalized Chinese Calligraphy

"Our purpose is to love and love some more ..."
-- David Krieger, global activist

A human being is a part of a whole, called by us a
universe, a part limited in time and space. He
experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as
something separated from the rest . . . a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind
of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires
and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our
task must be to free ourselves from this prison by
widening our circle of compassion to embrace all
living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.

- Albert Einstein

So, how does David's poem relate to World Tai Chi & Qigong Day?
Master Li, one of China's greatest Wushu coaches is the link.

Master Li's Qigong Focuses on LOVE

If you are unaware of Master Li's amazing story, you should be. Master Li was one of the most successful Wushu coaches in Chinese history.

Then one day, he had an epiphany that many teachers have -- realizing that love and connection were at the highest core of the internal arts. He has since then dedicated his life to expanding the energy of love through his Qigong teaching and practice.

Master Li's role in World Tai Chi & Qigong Day is profound. When WTCQD Founder, Bill Douglas, first presented at the National Qigong Association (NQA) event in Maryland, Master Li presented just before Bill did.

As he exited the room, Master Li stopped Bill, and said, "Why do you want to do this, to connect the global Tai Chi and Qigong community for this annual event?"

Master Li did not wait for an answer, he looked into Bill's eyes, and implored him, "Do it for love. If you don't do it for love, don't do it at all."

World Tai Chi & Qigong Day's global connection of the Tai Chi and Qigong family initially was solely health related, wanting to share these health tools worldwide. But as the founders began to form relationships with people all around the world from the UK to China, from Iran to Israel, and from Brazil to Russia, and everywhere in between ... the world became their family.

The motto of World Tai Chi & Qigong Day became "One World ... One Breath" and a worldwide family of Tai Chi and Qigong gave an annual example to the world, a vision of what could be.

"I hope that we passed Master Li's test. What I know is that these years, this event, these relationships we have formed ... we have learned to love the planet as our family."
-- Bill Douglas, Founder of World Tai Chi & Qigong Day
