Saturday, April 25th, 2015
Dear World Tai Chi & Qigong Day supporters,
Folks, we just have to say we love you all. Angie and I are so proud of what we, you and us, have created together. What a beautiful world it becomes when we are sharing Tai Chi and Qigong's calming and peaceful nature throughout the world. This newsletter will AMAZE YOU, and leave you so proud of what we are doing together ... a global Tai Chi and Qigong family.
World Tai Chi & Qigong Day (WTCQD videos and links have exploded across Youtube and Google in numbers that will BLOW YOUR MIND. Read on at article titled: "Tai Chi & Qigong are permeating popular culture."
JUST IN: An Amazing WTCQD development in Pakistan. Mrs.Falak Arshad of Sialkot, Pakistan has organized a huge Tai Chi and Qigong Camp, which they have called World Tai Chi & Qigong Day Camp, teaching local children the arts of Tai Chi and Qigong. See below photos.
We were so moved that we responded to Falak with this:
Dear Falak,
Your photos are BEAUTIFUL. What a powerful
event you created. WOW!
Are you teaching all these children Tai Chi
and Qigong? That is beautiful. And the fact
that you did it in honor of World Tai Chi &
Qigong Day is just so incredibly moving to
us here at WorldTaiChiDay.org.
When we see the beautiful faces of the
children we are so blessed to have touched
through our organizing efforts of these 17
years ... it is moving beyond words.
Falak, thank you for your work. Your work
in Pakistan is an example to the world of
Tai Chi and Qigong around the globe.
Yours in Qi,
Bill and Angela Wong-Douglas,
Co-Founders of World Tai Chi & Qigong Day
Pakistan participated in WTCQD for the first time in 2014. A school teacher, Mrs. Falak Arshad in Sialkot, Pakistan is the General Secretary for DMAA, and her students will participate in the global wave of Qi, this year on World Tai Chi & Qigong Day.
IN THE NEWS!
UK's Daily Mail reports that the Duchess of Cornwall was all smiles as she watched a Tai Chi demonstration at a cancer support center in Newcastle this week. The Daily Mail reported, "After watching the t'ai chi demonstration, Camilla, 67, who was glamorous in a cream suit, toured the centre chatting to patients." This follows on the heels of last year's report by the UK Mail, "1st Lady Michelle Obama Tries Her Hand at Tai Chi." (click link for Youtube video)
Also in. We just got this exciting message from Italian World Tai Chi Day & Qigong Day organizer Nello Mauro, who also organizes WTCQD events in Belgium and Luxembourg. This year's 2015 WTCQD event, they will hold it at the UNESCO Heritage Centre on Mt. Etne, on the east coast of Sicily on the Mediterranean.
(See top of newsletter image.)
This is very exciting and fitting for a WTCQD event, because UNESCO is the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization whose goal is promoting international collaboration through education, science, and culture. Sounds like WTCQD, doesn't it? We educate the public about the science of Tai Chi and Qigong which were gifts to the world from Chinese culture, and now are connecting people in over 80 nations each year via our annual World Tai Chi & Qigong Day celebrations.
This isn't the first time WTCQD events have been held at momentous institutions. The Oslo, Norway World Tai Chi & Qigong Day organizers held an event at the Nobel Peace Center in Oslo, and Carolyn Perkins of Manhattan, New York, pulled off the mammoth task of holding a WTCQD event at the United Nations Building.
ON ORGANIZING "YOUR" 2015 WTCQD EVENT:
We've been getting alot of calls and emails asking, "I'm organizing a WTCQD event in my city for the first time. What format do you follow at your WTCQD events?" We offer a short article in this E-zine edition that answers that question. See article further down.
