"BRASÍLIA, CAPITAL OF THE TAO
I am a lover of the Tao. Chinese philosophy which essence is balance between the opposites forces yin and yang was the basis for the systematization of all ancient knowledge about the mankind, the nature and relations of domination among the five elements - fire, earth, metal, water and wood. From both I Ching and Chinese Medicine, everything emerges from the Tao.
Given that my passion I was surprisingly happy for the discovery that exists in Brasília, almost 40 years ago, a special place where the study of the Tao is constant. Such blessed place is called Square of Universal Harmony (SUH). Inspired by the Grand Master Moo-Shong Woo, in October 1974, on the lawn of street 104/105 North, having the Brasília sky as a tent, was born a popular movement in favor of human health and planet harmony. Since then, this Chinese man from Taiwan, 82 years old, Brazilian-born, Honorary Citizen of this capital of Brazil, offers to the community and visitors, daily and free, practice of Tai Chi Being Tao.
The Tai Chi Being Tao is composed of several forms of Chinese exercises and therapies for health and longevity, such as tai chi chuan, chikung, self-massage, collecting of solar energy, moments of internalization / meditation, reading of Tao Te King and so one.
People of all ages gather there in the early hours of the morning to practice tai chi under orientation of volunteers and adepts of the work of Master Woo. At the end of each practice, everybody embraced in a circle proclaim loudly: Brotherhood, Health and Peace!
These activities are spread to several points in the city, being introduced in various medical emergency units. In the Square of the Three Powers (where we find the palaces of the Executive, Legislative and Judiciary Governments), for example, for over 6 years occurs free practice of tai chi, chikung and lian gong each second Sunday, from 17 to 18 pm.
Since its foundation, the SUH welcomed thousands of people of all ages, regardless of race, creed, profession or social status. Every day, in three different times, dozens of them concentrate to learn and practice exercises for harmonizing the health of the body-mind-spirit.
The purpose and social function of SUH, together with the volunteer instructors, is spreading worldwide health, brotherhood and peace! The loving and caring ideal of Master Woo does it as a big heart vibrating harmony to the entire planet!
For this reason and others, I feel very proud to have been born in Brasília."
