U.S. Consulate General in Hong Kong Aids World Tai Chi & Qigong Day w Formal Intros to HK Govt.

WTCQD Founders were granted an audience with the US Consulate, and met with the US Consulate Cultural Affairs Officer stationed in Hong Kong to investigate ways the US Consulate could help our efforts to expand tai chi and qigong usage in Hong Kong, and elsewhere for world health and to expand goodwill international relations. The Consulate Cultural Affairs Officer was VERY supportive of our vision and global health education efforts, and made official introductions on our behalf, to help us make inroads with Hong Kong Government agencies, and to expand WTCQD efforts in Macau. More below!

Dear World Tai Chi & Qigong Day Supporters,

We have some VERY EXCITING international developments, but first we want to recognize the important work of Patchogue, New York WTCQD organizer, Laurince McElroy for his exemplary efforts in fully utilizing WTCQD to expand tai chi & qigong awareness each year in Long Island. His work is an example to all WTCQD organizers worldwide.  See article below in this newsletter of Laurince's 2013 successes.

Now to the EXCITING HONG KONG/CHINA DEVELOPMENTS:

WTCQD Founders, Bill Douglas, and Hong Kong born Angela Wong Douglas, co-authors of "The Complete Idiot's Guide to T'ai Chi & Qigong," (Penguin/Alpha, 4th edition), have just returned from a VERY productive trip to Hong Kong and China to meet with officials, health researchers, and tai chi and qigong associations there.

Our trip began in Beijing where we met with Eric Liu of the Beijing Sanfeng Tai Chi Club about building a mass WTCQD event in Beijing in coming years.

This was followed by attending the Hong Kong Nature Health Association Annual Banquet, where all those involved in Hong Kong's WTCQD efforts accepted honors, and Angela and I were recognized on behalf of the global family of WTCQD organizers in 80 nations for our global efforts to spread tai chi and qigong and to honor Chinese culture for these gifts.  We donated Official WTCQD T-Shirts to help raise funds for their Hong Kong event efforts.

William Tsang is a professor and administrator, as well as researcher at Hong Kong's famed Polytechnic University, as well as a delightful human being.

He has been involved in some amazing research projects on Tai Chi Benefits through the HK Polytech Center of East Meets West, founded in 1998, coincidentally, the same year we held our first mass Tai Chi & Qigong event in Kansas City that started World Tai Chi & Qigong Day worldwide.

In this video you will have a chance to experience William's charming persona, as well as his important research work in Hong Kong proving Tai Chi benefits.

THIS IS JUST THE FIRST OF A SERIES OF ARTICLES WE WILL BE DOING ON WILLIAM TSANG'S RESEARCH WORK at Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and more details of his work will follow in coming WorldTaiChiDay.org newsletters.

WTCQD Founders and Hong Kong Polytechnic University Professor, and Tai Chi Medical Researcher Create Vision!

GLOBAL TAI CHI & QIGONG MEDICAL CONFERENCE - HONG KONG 2016

Hong Kong Polytechnic University Professor and WTCQD Founder

During WTCQD Founder's meeting with Professor William Tsang, of Hong Kong's prestigious Polytechnic University, WTCQD Founders and Professor Tsan pondered a grand vision for global participation in Hong Kong's WTCQD 2016.

The vision involves a possible World Tai Chi & Qigong Medical Conference held in collaboration with HK Polytechnic University and other major Hong Kong medical universities, that the U.S. Consulate General Office in Hong Kong is making formal introductions on behalf of World Tai Chi & Qigong Day.

As this evolves, our hope is to involve major medical universities worldwide.

The event would be held the week of WTCQD 2016, and WorldTaiChiDay.org would work to invite tai chi and qigong enthusiasts, teaching professionals, and tai chi and qigong medical researchers from all over the world to attend Hong Kong's 2016 WTCQD event.

The goal would be to make Hong Kong's 2016 event the largest WTCQD event in history, and to turn the attention of world media to Hong Kong in 2016 to focus on their WTCQD, and also on the tai chi and qigong Global Medical Conference and emerging medical research on these ancient mind-body arts.
