 SCOUT EXECUTIVE
From the Scout Executive Ray Franks

Phil & Lisa Hodges' gift to the East Carolina Council is so significant because it will allow us to construct a Training Center with three offices and eight classrooms that will become the primary training facility for our 3,500 volunteer East Carolina Council scout leaders.

Every adult on your charter must be "Youth Protection Trained" for your unit to recharter in 2013. BSA requires two signatures on all Scout unit checks. The 2013 Council Patrol Camporee will be at Bonner Scout Reservation April 26 -28. The theme will be STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).

Our staff assignment roster acknowledges those volunteers and staff responsible for providing the finest in Scouting for all aspects of the East Carolina Council BSA program including Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Venturing, Training, Advancement, and Programs. It also covers the many committees that strive to make everything run smoothly: Marketing, Finance, Membership, Council Commissioners, Administration, Staff, and Relationships.

In the Spirit of Scouting,

Eagle Scout Project - Logan Palmer, Troop 97, New Bern

A 30 foot flagpole topped with a circle of 20 solar-powered LED lights which shine down to illuminate the flag at night, was installed at Celestial Memorial Gardens, Vanceboro, by Logan Palmer as his Eagle Scout Project.

Numbers can be very impressive.

165... the number of Eagle Scouts from East Carolina Council in 2012.

This is our third largest year ever for Eagles.  All of you, Scouts, Scouters
and professional staff should be proud.
