BALTIMORE, MD (May 20, 2014) - Bike To Work Day in the Baltimore region is rescheduled for Friday, May 30 at many of the nearly 30 event sites and rides. Events throughout the region were cancelled for National Bike To Work Day on May 16 because of threats of flooding and thunderstorms, and concerns for participants' safety.

Bike To Work Day is a national campaign that celebrates bicycling as a healthy commuting option, while promoting public awareness of its safety and environmental factors. It occurs each year in May, which coincides with both National Bike Month and Clean Commute Month.

Please visit for more information on Bike To Work Day events in the Baltimore region. The following Bike To Work Day event sites will take place on May 30. Registration closes on Tuesday, May 27. Those who registered for May 16 events do not need to re-register:

  • Baltimore City Hall, 7-9 a.m., located at East Fayette and North Holiday streets.   
  • Baltimore City Parking Authority and the Charm City Circulator, 7-9 a.m., located at the Lexington Garage, 620 W. Lexington Street.  
  • Baltimore Bicycle Works, 7-9 a.m., located at 1813 Falls Road.  
  • Bambeco and Furbish Company, 7-9 a.m., located at South Hanover Street and Baltic Avenue.  
  • Harbor East Management Group, 7-9 a.m., located at 685 South President Street.  
  • Joe's Mt. Washington Bike Shop, 7-9 a.m., located at 5813 Falls Road.  
  • Johns Hopkins University, 7-9 a.m., located at 1600 McElderry Street.
  • Johns Hopkins University Homewood Campus, 7-9 a.m., located at 3010 Wyaman Park Drive.
  • McHenry Row, GKV, 7-9 a.m., located at 1500 Whetstone Way. 
  • Maryland Transit Administration Baltimore Redline, 7-9 a.m., located at Light and Lombard streets.   
  • Employees and volunteers of the National Aquarium only.
  • East Pratt Street, LLC, and Hord Copan Macht, 7-9 a.m., located at Pratt and South President streets.
  • State Center, 7-9 a.m., located at 301 West Preston Street.
  • State Highway Administration, 7-9 a.m., located at East Monument Street and Guilford Avenue.
  • University of Maryland Medical Center, 7-9 a.m., located at West Lombard and South Greene streets. 
  • Zipcar, 7-9 a.m., located at 700 South Caroline Street    
Baltimore County
  • Catonsville, 6-9 a.m., at Santa's House at Catonsville Fire Department, located at 754 Frederick Road.   
  • REI Timonium, 7-9 a.m., located at 63 West Aylesbury Road.
  • Towson, 7-9 a.m., at the Baltimore County Courthouse, located at 401 Bosley Avenue.
  • White Marsh, 8-10 a.m., at IKEA, located at 8352 Honeygo Boulevard. 

Carroll County
  • Westminster, 12-1 p.m., at the Carroll County Office Building, located at 225 North Center Street. 

Howard County
  • Columbia, 7-9 a.m., at the Mall in Columbia, located at 10300 Little Patuxent Parkway.  

The following Bike To Work Day events could not be rescheduled in 2014:
  • Those who registered for the Bel Air Bike To Work Day event in Harford County, which was to be held at the Harford County Government Building, may pick up T-shirts and goody bags while supplies last Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Harford County Department of Community Services, 319 South Main Street.
  • Bike To Work Day events in the City of Annapolis could not be rescheduled.
