As I am writing this I can hear the happy voices of Columbus Day visitors downstairs in the warehouse: sampling, playing cornhole and generally having a great time!  This is such a wonderful time of the year - especially when the weather cooperates.  We have gone into "off season" mode here at the brewery, and while you can rest assured that we will continue to have the same hours year round - the overall pace of things has changed.  We are in regrouping mode - recovery mode - wow what an amazing summer mode... where our brew crew worked their tails off to produce, package and pour an insane amount of beer!  Now things slow down a bit and we can regroup, refresh, add staff and figure out how we can do it better next summer!   While we have no significant capital equipment projects on the horizon for the winter we will be spending a lot of time and energy on the people and process of things.  As we grow, these things seem to leapfrog.. one year, equipment..one year, people and process.. repeat!  With that being said, we have several new employees to welcome:

The fourteenth annual Wellfleet OysterFest will take place the weekend after Columbus Day, Saturday and Sunday, October 18 & 19, 2014, in Wellfleet, Cape Cod, Massachusetts. This two-day family festival celebrates the town's famous oysters, clams and shellfishing traditions bringing together locals and visitors alike for a weekend full of hometown flavor and big time fun! There is something for everyone: local cuisine, arts and crafts, educational programs, cooking demonstrations, children's activities, walking tours, live music, a road race, and the annual Oyster Shuck-Off competition.

 

While Cape Cod Beer is not actually available at the fest - we will be onsite at Winslow's Tavern pouring beer. This is always a great place to hang during the Fest!

Since Friday night is Halloween - we've decided to host a costume party here at Cape Cod Beer!  As are most of our events, this is a family friendly event - so you are welcome to bring kids too!  Free for all  - but those who come in costume will receive a free beverage ticket. So there's some incentive to dress up!  Cash bar and light snacks.
