Greetings!
Hard to believe January is gone... and February has rolled in.  We've been busy with our expansion projects, some new staff, and some new beers.  Overall, life is good at Cape Cod Beer, and we have all of you, our wonderful supporters, to thank for it!  THANKS for your continued support!
Biere de Mars Release Party

Bitter End Release -  2/25
This beer was so good we had to make it again!  This year's Bitter End Imperial IPA is in the tank and awaiting its release date!

We made slight changes to this years recipe including:
  • We substituted Falconer's Flight for hops this year instead of Zythos.  The purchase of this hop supports the Glen Hay Falconer foundation which provides scholarships for brewers. It's a great hop and an even better cause!
  • We increased our hop bill from 41 to 44 pounds. For comparison there are 2.5 lbs in our Blonde, 9 lbs in our RED, and close to 20 lbs in the IPA!
  • Last year we dry hopped in muslin bags, which restricts the utilization, but makes it easier to clean up.  This year we loaded the dry hops directly into the fermenter - see photo right where Chris and Corey are loading hops into the fermenter.
Construction Update
This is the current condition of our new space, but we're kicking off construction this week with the building of a mezzanine, and the moving of a bathroom.  Next week we'll start cutting in the floor drains and working on the production floor and electrical. Watch the home page of our website for updates.
Cask Beers - Watch for it!
This past fall we purchased 8 casks to "play with", and they have been starting to show up on tap at local bars.  Cask beer is slightly different in that it has been allowed to ferment and naturally carbonate in the cask. Often we also dry hop these beer for added flavor.  Some casks are set on the bar - like shown - and must be drunk all within the same evening. Others will be tapped on a "beer engine" which allows the beer to served for several days or until the cask is kicked.  Watch for announcements about casks on our website, via email, on Facebook and Twitter.  Currently bars that pour cask are Flynn's, Liam Maguires, and all locations of the British Beer Co.
LAST CALL on two shirt designs!

These are on LAST CALL on our website and at the brewery store. We currently have most sizes left.  Once they get picked over we'll discount them.. but you run the risk of us not having your size.
Well, that is all news that fit to print!  We hope to see you all at the Biere de Mars Release Party - should be a fun night!

Cheers,

Todd Marcus, Brewmaster
