News From Marci & Debra

Hi there,

Last week we had the pleasure of spending the day with 1000's of women from all over the Bay Area at the Lead On Conference for Women in Silicon Valley.

Among the speakers were former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, iconic fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg, and renown researcher, professor and #1 NY Times bestselling author of Daring Greatly and The Gifts of Imperfection, Dr. Bren Brown.

We were particularly inspired by Dr. Brown's keynote.  She moved away from her usual address on the necessity of being vulnerable in order to allow for deep human connection and talked about leadership and courage.

Here were her main points:
  • Choose either courage or comfort.  You can't choose both.
  • If you think you're being brave and you're comfortable, you're not being brave.
  • Leaders fall down, get their "asses kicked" and get up and do it again.
  • Daring greatly is showing up even when you don't know what the consequences will be.
  • We have to be honest and admit that we care what other people think but the trick is to be clear about whose opinion matters.
  • If you dare greatly, you will experience failure. The question is, what will you do with the story?
  • When you deny your story, it will define you.  When you own your story, you get to write the ending.
  • If you can't toot your own horn, don't expect the band to show up.
  • When a leader falls, she always gets back up because she knows that the light within her is greater than the darkness she has to walk through.

Our experience has been that when we take risks and live with courage, both personally and professionally, we find ourselves in the Miracle Zone where life flows and miracles are the order of the day.  This might seem counterintuitive since when you step out and take risks you're setting yourself up to get your "ass kicked."  How miraculous can that be?  But the high of victory, the
exhilaration of success, that thrill of breaking boundaries is found in the Miracle Zone and it won't be lived by being careful and safe.

As Thelma and Louise said, "You get what you settle for."

Wishing you a month of daring greatly and feeling the wind at your back in the Miracle Zone.

Always miraculously yours,

Marci and Debra

Miracle Message
How My Self-Love Was Put to the Test
Although this month we're on to the theme of taking risks, having courage and creating success, we also wanted to share this timely message on self-love and the question of...does surrendering to the intelligence of the universe mean you don't take action?

Quotes
"When you take risks you learn that there will be times when you succeed and there will be times when you fail, and both are equally important."

~ Ellen DeGeneres

"Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go."

~ T. S. Eliot

About Debra

Debra Poneman spent the decade of the 70's teaching meditation to thousands and studying with some of the greatest spiritual Masters of the east - often in deep meditation for 10 to 12 hours a day and silence for weeks at a time. In the early 1980's, she began examining the knowledge of the great Masters of western metaphysical thought and founded Yes to Success Seminars to bring to the masses then "radical" ideas like everything is energy and your thoughts create your reality.

Within a few short years, Debra's seminars were established in cities across the US and internationally on four continents. Debra's infomercial was the first to ever to offer a "self-improvement" product and was broadcast in dozens of major US markets. She regularly appeared on TV, radio and in print from coast to coast. Her client list included Fortune 500 companies - at a time when there were only a handful of women corporate trainers - and her students went on to become mega-successful entrepreneurs, New York Times bestselling authors, renowned transformational leaders, millionaires, billionaires, and even household names.

In 1988 in the midst of negotiations for her own daytime TV talk show and with a contract in hand with a major publisher for her Yes to Success book, Debra chose to follow a different passion. For 20 years she disappeared from the public eye to be a stay-at-home mom.

Debra, now a best-selling author, is back once again sharing her knowledge with the world on what it takes to create a life of success, happiness and miracles.
