MJP unearths information never raised at trial that calls into question a Louisiana prisoner's 1977 murder conviction
 
  

As part of a Medill Justice Project investigation of Kenny "Zulu" Whitmore's case, MJP students discovered four-decade-old police records that offer a different account of a bloody murder in a small Southern town. Whitmore, whose conviction hinged on a confession he made, is serving a life sentence at Angola prison.
