ECE News
Open House

Enrollment for the 2016/2017 school year is almost open! You are invited to attend our Open House where you will learn about the plans for our next school year. Parents, come meet your child's future teacher and tour the classrooms on Monday, February 22 at 6:30pm. We look forward to seeing you!
Kindergarten Round-Up!

Is your child eligible to enroll into Kindergarten for the 2016/17 school year? If so, you don't want to miss the Kindergarten Round Up where you are eligible for PRIORITY registration! This will be a fun event to get you and your child familiar with the teachers and what to expect in Kindergarten.
Lori & Andy
Long-Time CCA Family in Need

One of our staff members, Lori Arnold, recently found out that her husband, Andy, has been diagnosed with Cerebellar Ataxia with Nystagmus. The cerebellum regulates voluntary muscle movement. The cerebellum part of his brain is much smaller than would be expected in someone of his age. This means Andy can no longer work and needs full time care. The doctors believe that it is genetic with a late onset. CCA would like to come along side the Arnold family through prayers and donations to help with medical bills. As a result, we have set up a GoFundMe account...all money raised will go directly to the Arnold family to pay for Andy's care. If you would like to help, please click here to donate. Thank you in advance for your prayers and help!
Dental Health Month

The sooner children begin getting regular dental checkups, the healthier their mouths will stay throughout their lives. The American Dental Association and the American Academy of Pediatrics say that every child should visit a dentist by age 1 - or as soon as the first tooth appears. This "well baby visit" teaches parents and caregivers how to care for their children's teeth and help them remain cavity-free.

The dentist can tell the parent or caregiver:
-What causes decay
-The importance of encouraging children to drink milk,
water and juice from a cup as they approach their first  birthday
-How to brush young teeth.

Tooth decay is the most common chronic disease among children in the United States. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports that more than 40 percent of children have decay by the time they reach kindergarten.  Early check-ups can prevent future decay.

Schedule a check up with your child's dentist, today!

Welcome New Staff

We would like to introduce three new staff to our ECE team! Carmie Thompson and Jessica Holtman have recently joined our team, and we are so excited to welcome them. In the mornings, Carmie will be working with our classrooms to give the children a deeper understanding of Music and Science. In the afternoons, she will be switching roles to Office Specialist. Jessica will be joining Mrs. Autumn's class as the Assistant Teacher. Koda will be assisting with the Extended Care program.

ECE Babysitter List

We know that parents need a break, sometimes. We also know that it's tricky finding trustworthy, qualified child care outside of ECE hours. We have put together a list of ECE staff that are interested in providing childcare when ECE is not in session. This list is available upon request in the ECE office. Please note that Cornerstone is not involved nor affiliated with any of the arrangements made.
