ECE News
November prompts us to count our blessings and remember all that we are thankful for. We are thankful for each of the families that make up the members of our ECE family. We appreciate and value every child that is entrusted in our care. On behalf of our team, "thank you!"

Thanksgiving Luncheon

If your child is in Southeast, Southwest, Midwest, Northwest, or Northeast please join us on Wednesday, November 18th at 11:00am for our annual Thanksgiving Luncheon. A meal of turkey and mashed potatoes will be served. Sign-ups for store-bought sides will be available in each classroom. We hope to see you there for a time of fellowship and reflection on all that we are thankful for this season.
Preschool Portrait Survey

This year, we ventured out and tried a new photographer for our preschool portraits. I know all of you are excited to receive your orders! They will be arriving this week. Please take a couple minutes to complete our survey. Your feedback is valuable to us!

Friendly Reminder

Please be mindful of the handicapped
parking spots marked on our campus. Unless you possess a handicapped parking tag, please park in the unmarked spots in our north a
nd south parking lots.

Let's Talk Sleep

The amount of sleep you need changes throughout your life. Here's a helpful chart to gauge the recommended amount of sleep your child needs.

AgeRecommended Amount of Sleep
Newborns16-18 hours a day
Preschool-aged children11-12 hours a day
School-aged childrenAt least 10 hours a day
Teens9-10 hours a day
Adults (including the elderly)7-8 hours a day

Other helpful hints to help your child get the sleep they need include:

1. Keep electronic devices out of kids' bedrooms-TV's, cell phones, computers, and video games. These devices are stimulating.
2. Keep bedtimes regular-even on the weekends.
3. Start your bedtime routine with dinner-having dinner at a regular time allows kids to plan quiet activities such as coloring between dinner and bedtime.
4. Have a wind down routine such as reading, stretching, music or a warm bath.
5. Create a sleep friendly environment-- consider lighting, noise, and temperature.
