February 2016 Newsletter
 Greetings!

Thanks to those of you who have responded promptly to our annual subs demand. Collecting subs isn't Christine's favourite job and it's made much easier if everybody pays promptly. If you haven't yet paid your subs for the year, we would be very grateful if you would do so as soon as possible. If you would like to join the club, you will be very welcome. Please see our website for details Join Brentford Cruising Club

We have sketched out a schedule of events for the year, including a couple of longer cruises, the London Ring and the QE2 Bridge/Medway and a number of social events. We have also highlighted a number of other dates with good tides for shorter cruises, which we will aim to fill in as the year progresses.

It is my intention to increase our presence on Facebook and Twitter this year. Although these media aren't for everybody, they are a good way of generating interest in the club. I also plan to start using WhatsApp as a way of transmitting more immediate messages to the group. This will enable trip organisers to advise the  group of last minute changes, and skippers who decide to go out at short notice when the weather is good, to find some crew to keep them company.

Best wishes

Friday 11th March - Drinks in the Snug and dinner at the Thames Restaurant
Join us from 6pm for drinks in the snug followed by supper at the Thames Restaurant in Brentford which is an eat-all-you-like Asian cuisine buffet style restaurant, with a set price of £15.95 per person + drinks. We plan to get to the restaurant for 7.30pm if you would prefer to meet us there. It's useful to have an idea of numbers, so please RSVP if you plan to come along. Everybody is invited, berth holders, new members, old members etc so it's a great opportunity for everybody to get to know each other.

New Year Cruise
Although the weather looked uncertain up to the last minute, the rain held off and the sun even broke through briefly. It was fantastic to see 24 people join the cruise aboard 6 boats, which we somehow managed to squeeze on to the pontoon at the Anglers in Teddington.
