2nd December 2014

Thanks to everybody who has sent me their menu for the  Christmas party at the Weir. If you would like to come along, but have still to forward me your menu form, please send it to me as soon as possible so that I am able to provide the Weir with our requirements in good time. Its an excellent opportunity for new members to meet everybody, so if your new to the club please do come along. Dinner will be served at around 8pm, and pre-dinner drinks will commence in the bar from around 7pm onwards.

Thanks also to everybody that came along to the AGM last Wednesday. I have included excerpts from the minutes below, which include details of next year's committee.

Finally, as the year draws to a close I would like to take this opportunity to thank the committee for their support and assistance throughout the year, and wish you all a very happy Christmas.

Best wishes

Andrew Kirkwood
Commodore

2014 AGM

Commodore's Report: The Commodore recalled that there had been a late start to the season, due to flooding. There had been a PLA meeting (largely about rowers), a successful Launch Party at the Thames Restaurant, a visit by the TYC to Pappadums, an early cruise to Teddington (from which Club Claret had to be rescued by the RNLI), a successful trip to London VTS and Greenwich YC, a visit to the ATYC rally at which Joy Harvey broke her leg), a popular BBQ at Brentford raising £600 for the RNLI, and supper at Swami Spice.

AK has registered with some social media sites and seen some interest. The marina is full and some of the boats are very active - definitely prospects for membership.

AK appealed for support for cruises arranged in 2015.

Treasurer's Report: CP presented the accounts which show a rise in income, and a healthy balance in the bank. Some 10 new members had joined, and some old ones left. CP was happy to say that she was now in control of the BCC account, but that a fraudulent DD had been spotted and was being investigated.

Election of officers:   John Scott tried to get demoted, but was overruled. Steve Tatham was promoted Rear Commodore. The new committee is thus:
Commodore: Andrew Kirkwood

Vice Commodore: John Scott

Rear Commodore: Steve Tatham

Treasurer: Christine Peppiatt

Hon Sec: Clive Evans

Committee: Jan & Leslie Ferber, Giselle Mansfield
