1st November 2013

Greetings!

The BCC AGM will take place on Wednesday 27th November at 8pm in the Residents Lounge. We review the year, vote in a new committee and agree the subs for next year. It is also a forum for the members to express their views, and discuss events for the coming year. Please come along and give us your ideas.

Best wishes

The London Apprentice and fish and chips at TYC

Club Claret and Hebe joined boats from Twickenham Yacht Club for an end of season cruise to the London Apprentice. After a pleasant pint or two all the boats set off for TYC for a fish and chip supper. A fine day was had by all and our thanks go out to TYC for their wonderful hospitality.

Club Claret and Hebe III returned to Brentford the following day, however the boats could not re-enter the marina until Monday as there was not enough water due to the closure of the Thames Barrier.

Other News
We have received the following letter from Mandy Timpson at the Isleworth Ait Management Group. If you are interested in getting involved, please get in touch with Mandy

Dear Sirs

As you probably know, the island of Isleworth Ait is managed by London Wildlife Trust volunteers and we access the island by boat.

Although we have a strong team of conservation volunteers, two of our three boat-handlers travel from Borehamwood and Brighton respectively, and we are looking for more locally based boat crew to strengthen our team.

Please could you ask your members if anyone would be interested in volunteering with us - we meet on the second Saturday morning of each month - and helping us maintain access for volunteers to the nature reserve.

Volunteers have to be aged 16 or over, for insurance cover. We would welcome anyone who is interested - whether experienced, or willing to train.

Anyone interested should contact me in the first instance at this email address or on 07756-262437.

Thank you in advance for any help you can offer.

Yours sincerely

Mandy Timpson (Health and Safety Officer, Isleworth Ait Management Group)
