Consider new ways of supporting Virginia Hospital Center Foundation. Gifts of Stock and Appreciated Assets.

How It Works: You make a gift of appreciated stocks, bonds, or mutual fund shares to Virginia Hospital Center Foundation. This can be done easily through an electronic transfer from your brokerage firm.

Benefits: You receive an immediate income tax deduction for the full market value of the securities on the date of transfer, no matter what you originally paid for them and you pay no capital gains tax when you contribute the securities. Contributing stocks, bonds or mutual fund shares is particularly attractive to individuals who hold securities that have appreciated significantly in value and produce little or no income. You can also establish a charitable gift annuity (CGA) with stocks, bonds or mutual fund shares and receive a guaranteed income for life as well as a charitable tax deduction.
