Virginia Hospital Center is one of the "100 Hospitals With Great Orthopedic Programs"
Virginia Hospital Center has just been named one of the Top 100 Hospitals with Great Orthopedic Programs for 2013 by Becker's Hospital Review. Virginia Hospital Center is the only hospital in the Washington DC metropolitan region to be so honored, and one of only three to be recognized in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Becker's says, "The hospitals included on this list have orthopedic surgery departments, programs or dedicated centers that have earned considerable recognition. Becker's selected their Top 100 based on recognition for quality care, clinical awards and research contributions to orthopedic care.
Other recent accolades: CareChex recognized Virginia Hospital Center as one of the Top 50 Quality Hospitals in Orthopedic Care and our Center for Joint Replacement received recertification by the Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval™ for Joint Replacement (hip and knee). Virginia Hospital Center receives the Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence Award.
The Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence Award honors healthcare providers who have reached the top 5% in performance for patient satisfaction over the most recent 12-month award period (May 2012 - April 2013). Award winners represent facilities that have sustained a score of 95th percentile in each reporting period of the year. Virginia Hospital Center was recognized specifically in two categories -Inpatient hospital care and the Emergency Department, and was the only hospital in Virginia to receive this award.
VHC earns Joint Commission Advanced Certification in Inpatient Diabetes
This 2-year certification from the Joint Commission is awarded to organizations that have achieved a standard of inpatient diabetes care that reflects continuous safe, high-quality care, services and treatment.
According to the Joint Commission, "achievement of certification signifies that the services you provide have the critical elements to achieve long-term success in improving outcomes. It is the best signal to your community that the quality care you provide is effectively managed to meet the needs of patients."
