Co-Educator Workshop: Educating and Motivating your Public Service Student
This workshop is for public service student supervisors, with a specific focus on internship supervisors, and will cover the many different aspects, best-practices, and resources that will help your organization educate and make the most of your public service students.

This is even is a great opportunity for community organizations to make connections with students, student organizations, and other Tulane organizations to promote volunteer opportunities. If you would like to participate, please fill out the online table registration form. Please RSVP by Sept. 6th.
Toolkit Workshop: Nonprofit Financial Management Tuesday, September 17th, 3pm-5pm This workshop features a presentation from Dr. Cory Sparks, Director of the Louisiana Association of Nonprofit Organizations, about the key components of nonprofit financial management. Invitations will be sent later this month.
Public Service Internship Fair: Wednesday, November 13th, 5:00pm-7:00pm Make sure to mark your calendar for the internship fair. This is an opportunity for community partners to meet with and seek potential interns for the Spring 2014 semester. Invitations will be coming out in October.
Partners are encouraged and welcome to attend any of the events, and they are free of charge.

Community Based Research Grants Available:
Funding is available to help facilitate community based research. Partners must identify a Tulane faculty member who may conduct research with their agency and apply for $2500-$4000 by November 8, 2013. Trouble the Waters: Film Screening and Panel
Tuesday, September 17th 6:30pm-8:30pm, McAlister Auditorium
Nominated for an Academy Award for best feature documentary, Trouble the Water takes audiences inside Hurricane Katrina in a way never before seen on screen. It's a redemptive tale of two self-described street hustlers who become heroes-two unforgettable people who survive the storm and then seize a chance for a new beginning. Panelist include Kim Roberts, the central figure of the documentary, and other New Orleans community members who will share their Katrina story. Tackling Youth Unemployment: Strategies that Work in New Orleans

Leveraging the power of bloggers and new media, the conference is a launch pad for organization and action. Our day-long program of speakers and presentations is tailored to inform, entertain, enrage and inspire.
We come together to dispel myths, promote facts, highlight progress and regress, discuss ideas, and promote sound policies at all levels. We aim to be a "real life" demonstration of internet activism.
