Messages posted on this list will include upcoming events such as service/leadership opportunities, special campus events, and community events. Although this listserv is primarily for the Tulane community and our community partner agencies, all are welcome here.

 Volunteer with us this  March to aid Hurricane  Sandy relief. Work side by side with your Tulane friends and alumni. Your family and friends are welcome to join! We will be in four locations in the northeast working on day-long service projects, so spread the word! Participation is free for volunteers and lunch is provided. Darkness to Light is a training session brought to Tulane by the New Orleans Child Advocacy Center. Learn the 7 simple steps to protect children from sexual abuse. Discover ways to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly. Lunch is provided. To RSVP email Jolia Raymond.

Experience the inspiring story of The Rethinkers from Kids Rethink New Orleans Schools. This HBO Documentary follows students on their quest to provide fresh and   locally grown produce at least twice a week in all 37 Recovery School District cafeterias. A catered reception will follow the screening, during which time the Rethinkers will be available for a "talk back"!

Economists and community leaders come to together to discuss the impacts of poverty on every aspectof a person's life. Speakers include Dr. Petrice Sams-Abiodun, Executive Director of the Lindy Boggs National Center for Community Literacy at Loyola University, James Kelly, Executive Director of Covenant House and Dr. Janet Johnson, Moderator. A reception will follow the panel.
