Chamber Annual Dinner

Welcoming the Transition

On Thursday, March 5 the Junction City Area Chamber of Commerce hosted their Annual Dinner to recognize and honor individuals and businesses who make an impact on our community. The theme of the dinner, Welcoming the Transition, was appropriate as over 200 attendees honored Ty Arneson, 2014 Outgoing Chair, Mark Ediger, 2015 Incoming Chair, and Tom Weigand, retiring CEO. Central National Bank received the Business of the Year award, Ladonna Junghans was recognized as the Volunteer of the Year, and the Geary County Historical Society was named the Tourism Advocate of the Year. Ben Kitchens Painting Co., Inc., has earned the service industry's coveted Angie's List Super Service Award, reflecting an exemplary year of service provided to members of the local services marketplace and consumer review site in 2014. 


"Our team makes it a priority to treat everyone as we would want and expect to be treated ourselves. Doing what we say we will do, when we say we will do it and at the price quoted is our goal for every customer. We love our customers!" said Ben Kitchens, owner. "Only about 5 percent of the Home Improvement companies in the Junction City/Manhattan area have performed so consistently well enough to earn our Super Service Award," said Angie's List Founder Angie Hicks. "It's a really high standard."


Angie's List Super Service Award 2014 winners have met strict eligibility requirements, which include an "A" rating in overall grade, recent grade, and review period grade; the company must be in good standing with Angie's List, pass a background check, and abide by Angie's List operational guidelines. 


Service company ratings are updated daily on Angie's List. Companies are graded on an A through F scale in areas ranging from price to professionalism to punctuality.

On Tuesday, April 14 at 6:00 p.m the Junction City Area Chamber of Commerce Economic Development Commission is hosting a Marketing for Success Seminar presented by the Washburn Kansas Small Business Development Center at Dorothy Bramlage Library

Whether you're a start-up or an established business, marketing is key to your future growth and success. This seminar will help you develop a marketing plan, build your brand, and use your time and money effectively. Special attention will be given to creating and measuring online and social media marketing efforts. Seminar participants will receive a resource guides, including worksheets, that will assist them in creating a comprehensive marketing plan.
