Christina High Schools are the Focus of
School-Business Partnership Meeting
Local business and education leaders from the New Castle County Chamber of Commerce, the University of Delaware, and public school districts had a unique opportunity on December 8 to
learn more about the current and future program offerings at Christina's three high schools and the Networks Program. High school principals Norma Brister (Networks), Noreen LaSorsa (CHS), Dean Ivory (GHS), and Curt Bedford (NHS) shared information about their schools, and then participated in a panel discussion. Guests at the meeting were very interested to learn about the current high school programs being offered in Christina, as well as plans for new student opportunities such as dual enrollment, expanded career and technical education, grants for pre-engineering and computer science, and partnerships with area businesses, corporations, and colleges.

The breakfast meeting was organized by Christina Acting Superintendent Dr. Robert Andrzejewski and New Castle County Chamber of Commerce President Mark Kleinschmidt. It was hosted by the Networks Program, which also provided breakfast items, tours, and an opportunity to shop in the school's Holiday Gift Shop.

These students worked hard and learned all about why Delaware is the "First State" and they also learned lessons in teamwork. Each student worked with a group to create a four panel display. Eight students accepted the award along with Gallaher fourth grade teacher, Mabel Boutte, and Advanced Academic teacher, Tara Lynch. Happy Delaware Day!
