Greetings!
Well we stopped into the RV Hall of Fame last Friday and I must say if you enjoy looking at RV's, specially vintage ones, you have to make a visit. The hall is located in Elkhart, Indiana right off of I-80/90 at exit 96. The display area is very well done, with a 2 lane road that takes you from the very early RV's of the 1900's up to the late 70's. We were very fortunate to have the whole place to ourselves which allowed us to take about 200 photos and view all of the RV's in about an hour and half. Even if it was busy, I would think you could cover the whole place in 1 to 2 hours. Unlike many places like this you can actually enter about 50% of the RV's for close inspection which made it much more memorable. Over the last year or so the hall has had financial issues and there have been news stories detailing it's possible closure. There is so much they could do with the place, like offer overnight RV hookups, showcase new RV's (they did have 1 new Winnebago there) sell RV accessories as well as deliver maybe more of a museum experience (get into the actually history of the industry). Hopefully they can figure it all out and it can become a great destination for years to come. I have posted a number of photos so far on our facebook page. |
