Computer Science Education Week - December 7 - 13, 2015
Computer Science Education Week is an annual program dedicated to inspiring K-12 students to take interest in computer science. At the center of the week is Hour of Code, a grassroots movement launched in 2013 with the goal of introducing students to computer science, demystifying code and showing that anybody can learn the basics - all in the course of one hour. https://csedweek.org

Hour of Code 2015
Computers are everywhere, but fewer schools teach computer science than 10 years ago. Good news is, we're on our way to change this. If you've heard about the Hour of Code before, you might know it made history. More than 100 million students have tried an Hour of Code. With the Hour of Code, computer science has been on homepages of Google, MSN, Yahoo! and Disney. Over 100 partners joined together to support this movement. Last year, every Apple Store in the world hosted an Hour of Code, and even President Obama wrote his first line of code as part of the campaign. This year, let's make it even bigger. IAN is asking you to join in for the Hour of Code 2015. Please get involved with an Hour of Code event during Computer Science Education Week, December 7-13. REGIONAL WORKFORCE TOOLS & DATA- Evaluation of Regional & Community Assets In an effort to encourage additional community collaborations, the Indiana Works Councils have produced regional environmental scans which provide an overview of potential community partners in each of the state's workforce regions. As the initial phase of an ongoing effort to provide technical assistance to Indiana's regional initiatives, the data within these reports have been compiled through on-the-ground fact finding, interviews, analyses of previous reports and feedback from multiple drafts. The information identified in the reports can be utilized in coalition building processes and serves to further regional endeavors in pathway and sector partnership development. The following reports represent the existing organizations, initiatives, and investment assets that are fueling regional workforce and educational development within the Pre-K to Career continuum. Assessing all of the current educational and employment assets is the first step towards effectively leveraging resources in order to cultivate a stronger regional workforce. Notably, each regional evaluation takes an in-depth look at the following: Pre-K - 12 Assets Post-Secondary Education Assets Adult & Workforce Assets Business & Industry Assets Local & Regional Planning Assets https://secure.in.gov/irwc/2706.htm
