Federal Transit Administration and US DOT Updates

On December 4th the Fixing America's Surface Transportation Act became law. You can read the article from the DOT or browse the website which includes a summary and info packet provided by the House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee.

Expanded Asset Inventory Reporting for the National Transit Database - Join the FTA at upcoming two webinars to learn about the proposed expansion of reporting requirements for asset inventory in the National Transit Database (NTD).  As required in MAP-21, recipients of FTA funding must report any information relating to a transit asset inventory or condition assessment to the NTD. While the NTD now collects asset inventory information on revenue vehicles and summary counts for other assets, such as maintenance facilities and fixed guideway systems, FTA proposes to collect additional asset inventory data to improve reporting. Read the relevant Federal Register notice for how to comment, and register for the sessions to be held on December 16th and 18th.
