Federal Transit Administration and US DOT Updates
On August 14 the FTA published a notice of proposed rule and request for comment on a new Public Transit Safety Program. Any comments on the proposed rule must be submitted by October 13, 2015.
In addition, the notice of proposed rulemaking included an outline of the National Public Transit Safety Program to be released in the next several months. The National Safety Plan will include a definition of "State of Good Repair" ( see p.10 section 670.31(b))
A last-call reminder that the FTA Bus Safety Program website will be shut down on August 31st. Take a moment to download any resources you want from the existing site, since not all content will transfer to the new site.
