FTA Announces Hurricane Relief Funds

A Federal Register Notice published Wednesday announces the call for applications for $2 billion in relief funding following Hurricane Sandy. Funds are available to states, local government authorities, Tribes, and other Federal Transit Administration (FTA) grantees affected by the hurricane. Funding requests must be made through the Grants.gov system by March 8, 2013. For further information, refer to the Federal Register Notice announcement

USDA Long-Term Rural and Tribal Projects Applications
 
The Community Transportation Association of America (CTAA) is currently accepting applications for a U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) technical assistance funding program. Long-term rural and Tribal projects are eligible to receive free technical assistance from CTAA. Projects include those that develop communities, improve, or expand transit facilities or services. Funding is not provided. Potential projects will be judged based on several factors, including number of potential jobs to be created, community support, and potential for replication elsewhere. SURTC Adds New Policy Examples to Website

The Small Urban and Rural Transit Center (SURTC) has added new policy documents to their already-robust collection of sample policies. Ranging in topic from ADA to driver performance review, passenger behavior policies, riders guides, and vehicle accident reports, the compilation of policies from transit agencies across the country is an excellent resource for transit agencies who want to update or write new policies.  Visit SURTC's site to view the documents.

EventShare is a web-based application that allows users to share and search for events. Event administrators can create an online calendar for their websites, allowing them to post events in an electronic, user-friendly format for their customers and partners. EventShare viewers can search for events and share them with friends and colleagues.
