MM&I Header

February 17, 2014 - Is something or someone causing you to hesitate in taking the next step towards what you are trying to achieve? Is it because the next step is a daunting one or because it appears to be too easy? When faced with a daunting task, it is natural to feel hesitant because of what you fear about the unknown. When the next step seems too easy, you question whether you are missing something or are skeptical of the outcome because of what seems to be almost too good to be true. Don't allow your own thinking block your ability to progress. Whether your next step is going to be challenge or a piece of cake, it is what you do with each step thereafter that confirms how steadfast you have been in bringing your dreams to life.

Take an MM&I Moment to understand why you are hesitating to make the next move. What doubts are you having that are making you hesitant? Is someone causing you to hesitate, and if so, why? What are his or her reasons and are they valid reasons or simply an opinion attempting to influence you?  How much do you believe in what you are trying to accomplish? Is this belief stronger than any opposition? Are you determined to be open to all possible ways and means of achievement?  Allow your desire to overpower any opposition, obstacle or doubt by staying focused on your dream and what it will ultimately bring into your reality.

Synergized Quote of the Week

Savvy Secret Tip of the Week

Are you effectively leveraging the power of relationships to build your business? I am not just talking about relationships with your employees or customers. I am talking about relationships in general.  Too many businesses rely so heavily on their customer relationships that they are actually doing a disservice to their customers. When you can tap into a network of relationships connected to your business, you are better able to flex and groove in serving your customers, as well as reach more potential customers. To learn more, read Secrets #22 (Beyond Customers), #25 (Circles of Influence), #35 (Strategic Relationships) and #37 (A Sense of Community) in my book, 50 Marketing Secrets. INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT CONSULTANTS REGIONAL MEETING FEBRUARY 24 IN GREENSBORO, NC: I am looking forward to the kick-off regional meeting of IMC-Carolinas to be held at the Grandover Resort on February 24th. I will be inducted onto the Board of Directors at this meeting. I am most excited to share that my client, Kyle O'Brien with Chobani, will be the dinner speaker. His topic, "Nothing But Good: How Defiant Optimism, Relentless Pursuit & Impassioned People Redefined an Industry" will highlight the best practices that contributed to Chobani building sales from $0 to $1 billion in five years, making it the number one Greek yogurt brand while re-inventing the entire industry category. Interested in attending as a guest at the regional meeting? CLICK HERE for registration details, including the "transformational conversations" program by Peter Popovich to be held in the afternoon.

MISTRESS OF CEREMONIES MARCH 12 AT UNITED WAY LAKE NORMAN EVENT:
I am honored to be the Mistress of Ceremonies at "An Evening of Amazing Women Sharing & Caring."  Being held in conjunction with Universal Women's Week, the evening will showcase two inspiring women, Shelley Henderson and Tammy Davis, who will share their journeys that took them from heart-wrenching circumstances to heart-warming triumphs through the help of United Way's community resources. The event is taking place at the River Run Country Club in Davidson, NC.

"YOU-NIQUENESS" ON MARCH 20:
Due to the wintry weather last week, I will be in Lincolnton presenting the program, "Embracing You-niqueness: The Personal Side of Branding to Achieve All You Can Be at Work and in Life," on March 20th. The program will take place at the Gaston College Cochrane Science Building, Room 117, in the afternoon from 2 - 5 p.m. For more information, or to register, CLICK HERE.
