July 15, 2013 - Are you giving enough credit and attention to that little voice in your head or feeling in your gut trying to guide your decisions? The great wisdom each of us possesses is knowing ourselves better than anyone else in how we think and feel about things. You likely can think of numerous examples where you did not trust your instincts and wished you had listened to what your inner self was trying to help you understand, see or question. The key to becoming more instinctually confident is in the questioning. Whenever you feel that "twinge" inside, it is telling you to gain more insight, understanding, awareness, or caution before proceeding further. This can always be accomplished through questioning yourself and others.
Take an MM&I Moment and consider something that you have recently experienced where you felt hesitant, uncomfortable, weary or doubtful, but not entirely sure why you were feeling this way. Now ask yourself questions about it and note any answers or additional questions that come to mind. Why do you think you are feeling this way? What basis of reference do you have for this feeling? Do you need to seek another person's insight as a result of this feeling? Could someone else provide the answers you need, or is there a source you can investigate for the answers you need? Understanding is the basis of building confidence, certainty and courage amidst chaos. If you seek to understand and trust your feelings, you will realize an inner power that you can harness with great skill and competency in the future -- your future.
