Rutgers and BioNJ to Co-Sponsor October 29 Event for Entrepreneurs
This half-day event for biopharma entrepreneurs is being sponsored by BioNJ and Rutgers. Decision makers from numerous organizations will discuss mission-driven investments in early stage companies, as well as funding opportunities from foundations and international groups. The keynote speaker will be Satish Jindal, Ph.D., CEO of Allied-Bristol Life Sciences, a joint venture between Allied Minds and Bristol Myers Squibb. Brian Leuthner, CEO of Edge Therapeutics, will speak about the non-traditional path his company took to raise money and how it got to its recent IPO. The event will be held October 29 on Livingston Campus in Piscataway (more here) .

Continuous Manufacturing of Pharmaceuticals Research Nets Rutgers Center $6 Million in Funding from Janssen and Nearly $5 million from FDA
Janssen Pharmaceutical has furthered its strategic partnership with the Rutgers University School of Engineering by providing $6 million to expand research that will help pharmaceutical companies develop new ways to manufacture prescription medicines (more here). The center where that work is being done has just received $4.9 million in grants from the FDA to develop systems and regulations for continuous manufacturing, a major innovation in the industry (more here). |
