From Kim Harrison, President of VSTE's Virtual Environments PLN...
While you are out enjoying the hot weather and catching some time by the beach, we want to enrich your minds with VSTE's annual online book club in Second Life and for the first year in Minecraft.
This Summer we will be reading An Educator's Guide to Using Minecraft in the Classroom also known as "Minecraft in the Classroom: Ideas, inspiration and student projects for teachers" by Colin Gallagher.
With VSTE's first year of having an educators only Minecraft server, we want to show you all the wonderful things one can do in Minecraft while we explore the world of Minecraft and find ways to incorporate student projects within the curriculum.
The VSTE Summer Book Club will hold discussion meetings in Second Life on July 13, 27 and August 10 at 8 PM. During the Mondays between these sessions, and possibly throughout the week with enough response, we will be in the VSTE Minecraft world to play and practice.
We hope you join us as we venture through these Virtual Environments helping each other in this new popular online world with a lot of potential.
