Digital Learning Day: Meet the Leaders
VSTE and the Department of Education will be co-hosting a Digital Learning Day celebration featuring webinars throughout the day on Wednesday, February 6, 2013, with the regional Educational Technology Leadership award winners.

Call for Nominations: VSTE Board of Directors
You are invited to nominate yourself or a colleague to be considered for election to the Virginia Society for Technology in Education (VSTE) Board of Directors, for the 2013-2016 Board term (three years).  This is an opportunity to become involved in the key decision-making group for the Virginia Society for Technology in Education. 

The online election, which will be held in April 2012, is for three seats on the twelve-person Board of Directors.

You must be a VSTE member to nominate, to be nominated, and to participate in the online election.  If you are receiving this email, you are a member.

Join us for an introduction to a model for creating research papers online. Keith Reeves from Arlington County will guide us through the process he has developed for use with high schools students that focuses primarily on the use of Google Apps. 

 

This webinar will take place on Thursday, February 21, at 8 PM, in our Adobe Connect room.  VSTELive! webinars are free and open to all so invite your colleagues for this exciting conversation. Thanks to Meeting One for providing our room!

Creating & Publishing eBooks on the iPad

Creating interactive, multimedia eBooks on the iPad is easy and fun.  The creation of these books supports the writing and publishing process and can be done right in the classroom using a set of iPad apps for the workflow.

The Mobile Learning Special Interest Group focuses on mobile devices in education. Join the Mobile Learning SIG Edmodo group by going to Edmodo and using the code zlyunj to learn, share and grow.  Learn more about the SIG at the website.
VirtualVA2013: Archives, Certificate and Request for Feedback
North Tier and VSTE partnered to present the first ever virtual conference in Virginia. It was a week of learning and sharing, highlighting innovative classrooms throughout the Commonwealth.

The archived recordings are available. In addition, we would love to hear your feedback. Even if you didn't participate, we want to hear from you. What can we do to make VirtualVA2014 even better!

For those who did participate, thank you, and we especially want to hear from you. There's also a certificate of participation available.

The day will feature a keynote with Lan Neugent, Tammy McGraw and Rich Ingram on Building the Digital Future along with two-hour hands on and one-hour breakout sessions.
