Greetings!

Our troops appreciate our packages.  They also appreciate the sacrifices that others have made before them.   Always remember the lives affected by the military and keep those families in your prayers.

Today, we received another shipment of your care packages! Thank you very much! We really appreciate for all your efforts and hard work. I wish I could repay your kindness somehow. All I can do now is to send some pictures of the troops.

I wanted to tell you "Thanks", and how much we appreciate your care packages.  It always reminds us that some people, besides our relatives, have not forgotten about us.  We are not that bad off because things could always be worse.  But the packages are great because even though we are not short on food, the food here just is not the same.

Well, we have finally made it halfway through, and hopefully only have 4 months left if we don't get extended.  I have just finally watched the HBO series "Band of Brothers".  Thankfully our grandfathers & fathers had a lot of grit.  If it weren't for folks like them, we wouldn't even have the opportunity to serve today.  My grandfather was in WWI, my oldest uncle in WWII, my dad in Korea.  I worked my way up through the ranks on the enlisted side to Master Sergeant.  I did a tour in Iraq from 07-08 in the Cavalry.   After that tour I took a Direct Commission as an Officer.  I am not a 1st Lieutenant.  believe me, it is quite a change.  I am the Battle Captain who runs the Tactical Operations Center for my Battalion.  It's king of like being the boss in the office, because I have to track everything that goes on, and when something bad happens, I do to do everything I can to help whoever is in trouble.  It's a lot different than years ago in my Infantry days.

Well, I can't tell you too many specifics, and I guess I'd better get back to work.

Thank you again.
