Team Work: A Healthy Diet And Lifestyle Takes A Village

When I was a wee teen, I got the idea that I would become an expert at everything so that I could take care of all of my needs myself, and never have to depend on anyone to do things for me.

I also wanted to be sure that everything I needed to have done was done "right".

I even enrolled myself in an auto repair class thinking that I would do my own automobile repairs rather than deal with the run around I was already experiencing at car dealers and the like.

Being full of exuberant teenage energy and enthusiasm, I set out to master all that there is in life to master, only to quickly find out that this was an impossible task. I mean, why would I even want to learn about auto mechanics when I would much rather be doing a million other things that I already didn't have the time for?

I didn't really have a grasp at that young age, of just how time consuming life is.

And I quickly had to revise my original (nave) idea.

I deducted that some people are better at certain things than others are.

Some people have more natural aptitude towards certain things than others do.

Some things one just LOVES doing. They feed and nourish the soul and are therefore essential to include in one's life.

And life circumstances, employment obligations, and other necessary priorities often dictate what we want to do, what our best intentions are, and what we actually can do in reality.

Which brings me to cooking.

Traditionally, long ago, life revolved around the kitchen.

Growing and obtaining food was the number one priority.

Preparing it followed closely. There simply was no choice in the matter.

People ate seasonally and locally, because traveling and supermarkets were not an option. Nor were restaurants, fast food joints, or out of season produce flown in from all over the world.

Life was very simple and basic way back when.

But life is not like that anymore. It is not basic, or simple.

Many of us have no time to be home in the kitchen for several hours a day meal planning and cooking. Not to mention shopping and cleaning up.

But there seems to be a sort of underlying guilt trip involved in this reality.

It is as if we feel guilty that we can't be merry little homemakers, and cook grandiose meals for our families and ourselves every single day.

It is as if we feel "less than perfect".

We compensate (in the best case scenario), by grabbing "to go" food from "healthy" shops and restaurants, although who has time for that on a regular basis?? So we buy healthily packaged frozen, canned, and dehydrated foods and "meals" that we can store at home for those times when we don't have the time to stop to pick up take out food.

But hold everything, because Wholly Macro is the merry little homemaker that is missing from your life!

The biggest part of our lives here at Wholly Macro revolves around the kitchen, the pantry, and the grocery store.

We truly are the merry little homemakers that are missing from your lives!

In order to put out real food, prepared entirely from scratch, orchestrated to accompany the seasons of the year, and creatively prepared so that it is pleasing to the eye, tasty, and enjoyable to eat, takes time, focus, and dedication.

With the quantities of food that we prepare here at Wholly Macro, it is a challenge to fit anything else into our own lives.

Doing everything for ourselves long ago fell by the wayside.

We completely and totally delegate many things in our lives to others to do for us.

This way, we can put all of our time and energy into food planning and preparation, for ourselves, and for others, and still have time to bicycle, swim in the ocean, garden, (one of our favorite activities, second only to cooking,) and spend time with family and friends.

By letting others do the things for us that we don't have to do for ourselves, we have created a team, a support team if you will, that helps us to have time in our lives for everything, without compromising our health, diet, or lifestyle.

Even so, it is still a challenge to fit it ALL in.

A very wise friend once told us that:

"You can do everything, but not all in one day".

This wisdom allowed us to learn to stagger our priority activities in order to fit all aspects of a healthy diet and lifestyle into each and every day.

We can't bicycle, walk, swim, and do yoga every single day, and still have time to shop, cook, and garden as well.

But we can shop one day, cook the next day, and still fit a refreshing swim in the ocean OR bicycle ride in on the next day. And save the rest for yet another day!

There is always something fun and healthy to look forward to!

When we visit various spiritual and teaching centers, and even community living groups, including the Kushi Institute Macrobiotic Center, we observe that the entire community functions as a team.

There is a kitchen staff, a computer staff, an office staff, a groundskeeper staff, etc.

The office staff do not cook, they let the kitchen staff do the cooking for them, and they get to eat delicious and healthy meals, while maintaining busy office demands, STRESS FREE.

It is called teamwork.

It is called community.

You can team up with friends, neighbors, and relatives to form a communal network that helps you to live the healthy life that you desire to live.

You benefit, and the entire community benefits.

We encourage you to look at Wholly Macro as the kitchen staff portion of your entire healthy lifestyle support team!

We are here to help you eat a healthier diet and live a healthier life.

We love what we do. We love doing what we do for all of you.

We take great satisfaction in preparing healthy food, for ourselves, and for all of you, and in being available to educate you in healthy diet and lifestyle choices.

You are not "less than perfect" by ordering freshly prepared super healthy food from Wholly Macro instead of cooking all of your meals yourself, or lets face it, picking food up here and there and eating on the go.

And you can still cook for yourselves as well.

But you can make a wise choice, and use us as part of your overall support team, your personal chef, in order to get the much-needed help that your busy lives deserve, to insure a fresh and healthy diet for yourself and your family.

I was reading my Harvard Newsletter this week.

Harvard is very big on health and prevention these days.

It went on and on (in a good way) about the importance of a healthy diet, the importance of regular exercise, and the importance of reducing stress.

One line in particular in this weeks Harvard Newsletter really struck a chord with me.

It said:

"The one clear path to good health in general, is to follow a healthful diet. Choosing healthy foods based on good science remains the best known way to alleviate risk factors and reduce your chances of developing disease".

Don't you just LOVE that line??

With this in mind, please find the super healthy July 29, 2015 Wholly Macro Delivery Menu below, where you will be just a few clicks away from having your own personal support team, "Team Wholly Macro", prepare the healthiest food available in South Florida for you. Freshly prepared food that is firmly rooted in a combination of scientific principles, and better yet, food that can be delivered right to your front door via Wholly Macro's unique and reasonably priced prepared meal delivery service.

Teamwork!

It takes a village to live a healthy lifestyle these days!

May health, happiness, and prosperity be your unavoidable natural state and your ongoing daily experience.

Here's some feedback from a consultation client.....

" three years ago I discovered that I had breast cancer.  I had heard of Macrobiotics years ago. I didn't understand the concept but immediately I knew that that would be the route that I would pursue. But where to go and who to see was the question. Thank God for reading the macrobiotic newsletter. For in the newsletter there was  an article about Gayle Stolove. I just felt her strength and passion burn through the page that I was reading. I immediately made an appointment to see her and although I was still so frightened,  I felt so comfortable talking with Gayle. Gayle  guided me through the whole process. I thought that the macrobiotic way of life would be boring and just eating rice. Well, I love the foods that I eat and I just feel good about it all.  You see, after the surgery, you are sort of left on your own.You have to make your own decisions, etc. Everyone gives you different advice as what to eat, what to do, etc. Doctors don't understand what the patient is going through nor do they understand what kind of diet they should follow. I adopted Gayle as my guardian angel.  You can't find that with any nutritionist or doctor. I love receiving her weekly e-mailed newsletters. They are so full of wonderful knowledge and beautiful healthy recipes. Gayle is a remarkable human being. She truly cares for her clients and gives them her all, one hundred percent of the time. Gayle has been there and therefore she is so compassionate and dedicates her life to helping people like me....."     a cancer survivor
