Seasonal change is subtle here in Santa Monica, but it happens, often identified by events as much as the weather. This is the time of annual meetings and transitions from one board to the next one for Leagues. Our Annual Meeting is June 20th. For League members, your Convention Kit is somewhere in the mail you received mid-May. Take time to read through it, look at the past year's activities and consider what you would like to see next year.
This year's meeting will be at the Ken Edwards Center, June 20th at 10:00a.m. Following the business meeting there is a sandwich and salad buffet and a presentation by David Martin, Director of Planning and Community Development for the City of Santa Monica. Reservations are needed and the lunch is only $20.00. Guests are welcome, but they will not be allowed to vote. Metered parking is available beneath the Center. All members are encouraged to come and help us plan for a new League Year.
Included in your mailing was a new League roster. Think of a friend who should be a League member and check for his or her name. If it is not there, reach out and invite them to the meeting. One to one, that is how we grow.

| | Tell Your Representative to Redefine Coordination
It's time to close the loopholes in our campaign contribution system and strengthen the rules prohibiting coordination between candidates and outside spending groups. Tell your Representative to cosponsor and support HR 425, the "Stop Super PAC -- Candidate Coordination Act" introduced by Representatives David Price and Chris Van Hollen. |
