Election day is only a week away and many of you may have already voted. If not, a few tips that may be of use.
- Today is the very last day to order an absentee ballot. If you don't feel confident that it can be returned on time by mail, you may drop it at any polling place in the county.
- Smartvoter.org is your source for all election information, including background on the judges.
- LWVC and California PTA co-sponsored a forum for the candidates for Superintendent of Public Instruction. A video is now available.
- LWV San Diego hosted a forum for the candidates for Secretary of State. That video is available for the public.
-
LWVSM and LAUP co-sponsored a forum for the Board of Supervisors, Third District. This video is also available.
- The Easy Voter Guide is available in English, Spanish, Chinese, Vietnamese and Korean at www.easyvoterguide.org

| Federal Agriculture Policy Position
For many weeks we talked about and read about the Federal Agriculture Policy Update. A national consensus has been reached and a position adopted. This was a complex study with many parts that affected different areas in different ways. An excellent example of why Belle Sherwin, our second national president, once described the League as a "university without walls...whose members enter to learn and remain to shape the curriculum."

SB 27 Signed
The Governor signed Senate Bill 27 (Correa), which will help ensure that campaign contributors can no longer use "dark money" loopholes to avoid disclosure. California voters will be better able to follow the money in campaigns and make more informed decisions at the polls. Many thanks to the many League members and others who supported this important bill!
