May 6, 2014

A League never supports a candidate or party.  We do, however, support issues we have studied and reached consensus around.

VOTER REGISTRATION NEWS

Online Voter Registration Now Available in 10 Languages

California's online voter registration website - launched in English and Spanish in 2012 - is now expanded to include eight additional languages: Chinese, Hindi, Japanese, Khmer, Korean, Tagalog, Thai, and Vietnamese.  Individuals can now register to vote by visiting http://registertovote.ca.gov and filling out an online form that is available in these languages.

Remember, you need to reregister if you have moved, changed your name or wish to change party registration.  The last day to do so before the June primaries is May 19, less than two weeks away.

LWVSM MEMBER NEWS

Beloved League member Dorothy Green passed away last month at the age of 94.  Dorothy and Chuck were stalwarts of Voter Service for many years. Inactive in recent years, they have been and will be greatly missed.  Condolences to children Terry and Marilyn and their families. Here is a lovely longer piece from Malibu Patch.
