YOU ARE INVITED...

Reservations are open for our 7th Annual Women Who Shape Santa Monica reception on March 27.  Your invitation is ready.  A special guest will be Beth Pitton August, a board director of the League of Women Voters of California.  

Tonight, February 25, the Commission on the Status of Women will be hosting a reception in the City Hall lobby just before the council meeting to kick off Women' History Month.  Join us as we celebrate with others across the city that are recognizing this month with special events.

OTHER EVENTS
Santa Monica History Museum
In honor of Women's History Month the Museum is looking for Santa Monica Women of World War II to participate in a program.  Women were crucial to the war effort, especially at Douglas Aircraft where so many local women worked. 

The celebration, Immeasurable Contributions is March 9, 2-4 at the Museum, 1350 7th St.

Women Lead
Encouraging women to take leadership roles in their community is a goal of the League of Women Voters.  Women Lead, a nonpartisan organization is providing training for women considering running for office.  Information about tThe Los Angeles training, sponsored by LWV Los Angeles and The Advancement Project is available here
 

MEMBER NEWS
The community memorial gathering and celebration of long time member Betty Mueller's life will be Friday, March 28 at 7:00p.m. at the Church in Ocean Park, 235 Hill St, Santa Monica 90405.
