THINGS ARE HAPPENING...Next Tuesday, February 25, the Commission on the Status of Women will be hosting a reception in the City Hall lobby just before the council meeting to kick off Women' History Month. Join us as we celebrate with others across the city that are recognizing this month with special events. Wednesday, March 5, is our regular board meeting. Just a reminder that all members are always welcome to attend. Email pres@lwvsantamonica.org for details. Watch for your Invitation! Our 7th Annual Women Who Shape Santa Monica reception is Thursday, March 27. This is our celebration of Women's History Month. Also, this year, a celebration of our 80th birthday in Santa Monica. We will be gathering in the beautiful 10th floor penthouse of Ocean House. Invitations will be out this week. Then, Saturday, March 29th will be the Consensus Meeting for the LWVUS Agriculture Update Study. We will be meeting in the Community Room at the Main Library. A funeral mass for long time member Betty Mueller will be held on Saturday, February 22, 10:00a.m. at St. Monica's. All are welcome.
A community memorial and celebration of Betty's life is being planned for sometime in March. That information will be in an upcoming Update.
