As the old year winds down and the days grow shorter it seems there is just not enough time. However we hope you will find a few minutes to note Ann's request and drop us a line.
This is also the season of giving and, as you plan your end of year giving, please remember us. The donate button is on the left and our ability to bring exciting programs to the community has only two limits--the funding we have available and the membership or people power. Membership is growing and we need to grow the funds to go with it. More was in last week's "Giving Tuesday" request.
Every addition is appreciated.

PRESIDENT'S CORNER
|

The end of the year is fast approaching, and, like many organizations you respect and support, we're asking for money. The end of the year is fundraising season as we try to beat the "tax-deductible" deadline of January 1.
If you're like me, you want to help, but you also want to know what you're getting for your money.
You know we'll provide you with voter education and non-partisan, non-biased information as the 2014 elections approach; you also know we'll offer in-depth studies and informational meetings. In the next few months, look for a wide-ranging study of national agricultural policies and a presentation and training session about tax support for non-profits.
But what if you want more? That's where you come in.
Local Leagues have the opportunity to intensify their study and advocacy regarding issues of particular importance in their communities. For example, the League of Women Voters of the Claremont Area has played a leading role in its community with its long-term study and the educational presentations and informational materials about the area's water future.
And citizens of Whittier can thank the League of Women Voters of Whittier for keeping them informed about oil drilling in their community.
What about Santa Monica? What do you think our most pressing issues are? Let us know, so we can make our plans with your political passions in mind. Just go to http://www.lwvsantamonica.org/contact.html and send us your thoughts. I guarantee - we'll listen.
And don't forget to have a happy holiday season and a fabulous New Year!
