Black Warrior Review to Host Auction
Publication celebrates its 40th Anniversary

 

Black Warrior Review is celebrating its 40th anniversary and invites the public to join them for CATSBY!, an auction to be held TONIGHT, November 6 at 7:30pm in the Martini Room of Glory Bound Gyro Co. (2325 University Blvd.)

 

The auction will feature gifts from local businesses, as well as art pieces by students and faculty at the University of Alabama. All proceeds will go to the Black Warrior Review to support the award-winning publication and it's Bankhead Reading Series. Click here to view a list of donors and participants. 

 

For those unable to attend the auction that still wish to support Black Warrior Review, click here to make a pledge. Those who donate will receive a 2014 calendar featuring the cutest cats of the University of Alabama English graduate department. 

 


Business School's Current Events team to host Connect 2013
Networking event will be open to all students

 

Connect 2013 is open to all students of all majors, and is a great opportunity for students to meet 40+ companies, receive an interview, and potentially lock down a job or internship in the same day. Hosted by the Corporate Events team through the Sales Program of the Business School, Connect 2013 will be in the Ferguson Center Ballroom TODAY from 10:30am until 2pm. Dress is business professional, and students should bring multiple copies of their resume. Email [email protected] with questions.

 


The 49 to hold November meeting
Out-0f-state student organization meets to plan, talk about programs 

 

The 49, and organization for out of state students, will hold its November meeting TOMORROW. November 7, at 6pm in Lloyd 235. The purpose of the meeting is to plan future events, talk about programs, and give information about upcoming events. Any interested student is welcome to attend!

 


Korean Student Association and CLC to co-host guest lecturer
Free Korean dinner provided after the lecture

 

The Korean Student Association and the CLC are co-hosting an event called "Insight into Korea." The event will include a speaker, Mr. Duk Kim, the plant manager for Lear Montgomery, a Tier One supplier for seating components for Hyundai Motor Manufacturing of Alabama. Under Duk's leadership, the company was award the Assembly Plant of the Year by Assembly Magazine and the Supplier Excellence Award by Hyundai. Prior to joining Lear Montgomery, Duk spent nineteen years with the Ford Motor Company. Duk serves as a director for the Montgomery Committee of 100 and director of business development for the Montgomery Korean Association. He is a member of Leadership Alabama Class of XXII.

 

Duk will deliver the lecture about Korean culture and business at 6:30pm on this THURSDAY, November 7th in Altson Hall 30. The event is open to the public. After the lecture, a free Korean dinner will be provided.

 


SOURCE Collaborative Grant application still open
Organizations encouraged to collaborate on events for grant money

 

Organizations can be awarded grants of varying amounts of funds for collaborative events with other organizations that positively impact the UA community. The application is available on mySOURCE under the Campus Links tab, or by visiting thesource.ua.edu/forms. Applications are due November 15th. Every month, we'll be highlighting a different feature available through mySOURCE. This month - the Change Constitution and Change Officer/Advisor forms.

 

Did your organization make some mid-year updates to your constitution? Did you hold mid-semester elections and need to change update your officers? Both of these actions can accessed through the "Campus Links" tab on mySOURCE we talked about last month. To get there:

1) Go to https://ua.collegiatelink.net/ (or click the link on the top right corner of the source website!)

2) Log in using your myBama credentials.

3) Click the "Campus Links" tab at the top of the page.

 

4) Click either the Change of Constitution Form or the Change of Officer Advisor form. Both links will take you to a description of the form.

 

5) Click next. This will take you to the main page of the form, where you can upload your new constitution or change your officers/advisor. Continue clicking next until you have completed the form. NOTE: For the Change of Constitution form, you must hit the "next" arrow and then select "Submit for Approval" on the next page.
