Today's Turning the Tide Focus:
Healing for Broken Hearts

Parents
Parent's Prayer:

Dear Lord,
We know that there are times when ______ feels great sorrow and confusion over what he/she is dealing with in his/her life. Autism can often cause isolation and pain for those who are locked within it. But you, Lord, are able to touch hearts and lives in miraculous ways that we cannot begin to understand. Thank you that you desire to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives, and bring release from darkness for prisoners. When he/she feels these things, we ask that you would bring your deep sense of comfort and healing to his/her heart, and that he/she would know that they have been touched by you and your love. Help us also to have creative and effective ways to reach him/her in all he/she deals with. We thank you for your faithfulness to us in every circumstance of life.
In Jesus' Name,
Amen

"The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."
(Psalm 34:18, NIV)

"Those who sow in tears will reap with songs of joy. "  (Psalm 126:5, NIV)

"How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them!"      (Psalm 139:17, NIV)

"Even if my father and mother abandon me, the LORD will hold me close." (Psalm 27:10, NLT)

"He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out from the bog and the mire, and set my feet on a hard, firm path, and steadied me as I walked along."   (Psalm 40:1-2, TLB)

"Not one sparrow (What do they cost? Two for a penny?) can fall to the ground without your Father
knowing it. And the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don't worry! You are more valuable to him than many sparrows." (Matthew 10:29-31, TLB)

"for he has not despised my cries of deep despair; he has not turned and walked away. When I cried to him, he heard and came."   (Psalm 22:24, TLB)

  • Pray that those who are suffering with autism would feel a deep sense of comfort and healing at their deepest point of need, and that they would come to know God in ways that are very meaningful to them. Pray that those around would know how to point them to God despite challenges in communication.

Today's Turning the Tide Focus:
Our Authority to Turn the Tide!

Parents
Parent's Prayer:

Dear Father,
We thank you that your Word promises us authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy. We ask that the authority you have given us as the Body of Christ would truly make a difference on Earth. Therefore, we believe that this Scripture is true. We take up the authority you have given us and declare that the tide of autism will be turned! We declare that you will bring healing to _______ and to our family, and that you would use us as instruments to bring healing to others who have been so deeply affected by autism. We also thank you that we can trust you to protect us, and that you give us what we need to prevail in every circumstance. Although it is sometimes a long, difficult process, we are grateful knowing that your mercy and power will bring us to a place of victory and peace.
In Jesus' Name,
Amen

Extended Prayer Points:

"Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the miracles themselves. I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it."       (John 14:11-14, NIV)

"Then Jesus came to them and said, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.'"(Matthew 28:18-20, NIV)

"To all who are victorious, who obey me to the very end, I will give authority over all the nations. They will rule the nations with an iron rod and smash them like clay pots. They will have the same authority I received from my Father, and I will also give them the morning star! Anyone who is willing to hear should listen to the Spirit and understand what the Spirit is saying to the churches." (Rev 2:26-29, NLT)

"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in
Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."(Acts 1:8, NIV)

"But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed." (2 Corinthians 4:7-9, NIV)

  • Pray that the Body of Christ would not remain passive, but would come to understand the authority God has given us, and the responsibility we have to use it for His purposes, including turning the tide of autism.

FridaySunday:

Today's Turning the Tide Focus:
Hope for Siblings

ParentsParent's Prayer:

(If you only have one child, please consider praying the family/friend's prayer for another family)

Dear Lord,
So much of our time and effort seems to go to ______ because of his/her many deep needs. But we are very mindful that our other children also have many deep needs. Our family's circumstances can often present them with special and difficult situations as well. They may feel that what they are needing seems to go unacknowledged or unmet. We often feel stretched and unable to do all that needs to be done for each child in our home. Help us to have great wisdom in knowing how to balance our focus and attention among our children to the best of our ability. We thank you, Lord, that we are not alone in ministering to our children, and that you care very deeply for each one. When we are unable to meet all of their needs, we pray that you would move deeply within them to bring comfort and peace to their hearts. Even in their youth we ask that you would give them great wisdom and ability to deal with their challenges in ways that will be productive. We ask that you would also give them an extra measure of hope for their futures and faith in you to provide all they need.
In Jesus' Name,
Amen
