Diabetes in Children: What Everyone Should Know

When a child has been diagnosed with diabetes, part of their world revolves around managing the disease. It would be a lot for even an adult to handle, but children are resilient and even with a disease that requires constant monitoring, kids with diabetes can live normal lives with sports, slumber parties, school activities, and more.  You may have students in your school who are diabetic or your students may encounter a child with diabetes elsewhere. It would be good for them to understand what diabetes is and what life is like for kids with diabetes.  The resources below are a good start. Many of them are written specifically for kids.
