PTA LEADER UPDATE
A weekly bulletin from your Council PTA to keep you informed.
Greetings
As we enter the week of Thanksgiving, I would just like to say how thankful I am to be part of Guilford County Schools.  As a parent, an employee and a leader, I get the full experience of what it means to be part of this school district.  This is a wonderful community of people truly dedicated to making sure our children reach their potential.

Thank you for everything you do.  Know that what you are doing is making a difference in the lives of our children and, although you may not hear it much, people are thankful!

Please remember to take time for yourself this week. Satisfying your personal needs will make you a stronger leader.  Enjoy your family and have a very Happy Thanksgiving!

Reminders
  • Rest, shop, eat - whatever makes you happy
  • Plan something fun for your board in December - if you don't need a business meeting, make it a social meeting or combine the two
Reflections
Congratulations to the 30+ PTAs and PTSAs in GCS that have students participating in Reflections!  The work was submitted on Thursday and has already been sent to the judges.  Here is a reminder of the next steps for those PTAs participating:
  • Tuesday, January 7th -
    • Each local PTA unit chair hangs their own entries
    • 9:30am - 1:00pm
  •  Friday, January 10th -
    • County Level Awards Ceremony
    • Elementary School @ 5:30pm
    • Middle and High School @ 7:00pm
  • Tuesday, January 14th - 
    • Full Council Meeting
    • All PTA presidents, principals and other delegates and invited to view the student's work from Reflections, S.P.I.C.E. grants are awarded, ACC will present and more
  • Thursday, January 16th -
    • Each Local PTA unit takes down their own entries 
    • 9:30am - 1:00pm
All of the above events will take place at the Greensboro Cultural Arts Center located at 200 N Davie St, Greensboro, NC

  • January 14: S.P.I.C.E. Grant Awards Ceremony and Full Council Meeting  - Cultural Arts Center
  • January 23:  State of our Schools
