PTA LEADER UPDATE

Greetings

We have one full week of school this week and then a nice break the next.  For those of you who have been doing too much (and you know who you are!), it is time to wrap things up this week and then take a week off from volunteering.

We have passed some crucial deadlines and Reflections turn in is this Thursday. So plan some things for you to do for yourself, as well as spend some extra time with your own family.  It is important to take care of yourself or you will burn out quickly.

Reminders
  •  Reflections turn in to county - Thursday, November 21:
    • PTA Room behind the GCS bldg at 712 N. Eugene St.
    • 9:30am-4:45pm
    • You will be delivering to either Lynne Williams or Martha Parrish - DO NOT give your paperwork or student's work to anyone else

Men are Essential
more1December is "Men are Essential" month for NCPTA's membership drive -  Units with at least 50 male members entered into the membership database are eligible. Winning unit receives $100

Here are some tips:
  • Find an active male at your school to take the lead and organize a male meeting
  • Consider hosting a Dad/Student sporting event, Father/Daughter Dance or Male Reading Mentor program
  • Let the men decide what activity they would like to do with your students
  • Men come in all shapes and sizes - welcome uncles, grandfathers, pastors, brothers, friends
  • Have membership tables at these events
