Deep breath - we are already in November. There are many important things to get done in November, so please take time to read through the reminders below and make yourself a checklist.

Please let your board members know about our upcoming training on November 12th.  If your PTA is interested in having a Facebook page, they need help with communications or your Treasurer needs some questions answered, then you don't want to miss this free training.

Now turn your clocks back and enjoy an extra hour today!

Reminders
  • PTA Training is available on Tuesday, November 12 at Kernodle Middle School 
    • Treasurer's Training from 6-8pm
    • Social Media and Internet Tools from 6-8pm
    • Sandwiches, snacks and drink provided
    • Register Now
  • Submit your PTA's 990 annual tax-filing with the IRS by November 15
  • Turn in your Reflections entries to the council on November 21 between the hours of 9:30am-4:45pm (time has been extended) at the PTA Room behind the GCS building at 712 N. Eugene St.
  • Elect your Nominating Committee.  Read section 8.3 in the bylaws for specific information
Healthy Lifestyles Month
The goal for National PTAs Healthy Lifestyles programming is to help school and home environments make the healthy choice the easy choice.   

Nearly one in three children in America are overweight or obese. Obesity has potentially devastating consequences for youth, increasing the risk of health problems such as heart disease, diabetes, and cancer. Children who are obese also miss more school than other kids. If we don't reverse the current childhood obesity trend, this will be the first generation to live sicker and die younger than their parents.  Read more...
