GCSTV Has a New Home on Time Warner Cable

Last week, Time Warner Cable moved some channels, including GCSTV, to a digital format. GCSTV is now on digital channel 74-1, so set the new channel to your favorites!

The switch means viewers will need digital equipment to watch the new channels. The situation will differ for most viewers, but in general, if you have a digital flat screen TV or tube type TV manufactured after 2006 that hooks directly to cable, GCSTV is now automatically on digital channel 74-1. You'll most likely have to go into the TV menu and set it to re-scan for either digital channels or all channels.

Some older TV sets equipped with set-top cable boxes or CableCARD digital converters provided by Time Warner Cable may continue to receive GCSTV on cable channel 2. Other customers may need to get a digital adapter from Time Warner; they will be free until January 2015, then cost 99 cents a month.

Nature Photography for Kids and a Cool Pinterest Art Project

Do you have a budding photographer in your classroom or at home? Nature photographer, Gabby Salazar, has written a series of "Through the Lens" columns for kids who are interested in taking photos of nature. She provides tips for taking photos of flowers, birds, beaches, and ways to use reflections, light and patterns to make photos interesting.

What's New

We've updated our Art board in Pinterest to include a pin to lessons and activities from the National Gallery of Art. We have also added an interesting pin to a project that has students using recycled paper to make greeting cards that have been embedded with seeds that, when planted, will grow into flowers. How cool is that?
